If you have a passion for Tango and Milongas you cannot miss an opportunity to visit this exclusive and stunning hotel in Argentina.
Designed by Philippe Starck, this hotel offers over-the-top elegance in Puerto Madero, a planned waterfront district. The spacious hotel, which occupies an old grain silo, has everything from a cabaret stage to a hammam, with 110 rooms.
The Faena opened to much fanfare among fashionistas in 2004, with its Philippe Starck design and handsome owner Alan Faena. The hotel, built into El Porteño, a 1902 grain silo, feels like a resort within the city. In public spaces, decayed Edwardian elegance meets country kitsch – tin metal sheeting, peeling paint, and unicorn wall ornaments.
Oversized rooms have white Empire-style furnishings and cut-glass mirrors reminiscent of colonial Mexico, and each has a home entertainment center.
Rooms facing the city skyline have incredible vistas; others overlook the nearby Ecological Reserve. The spa is spacious and unique, using the round silos to great effect, with a Turkish-style hammam bath and a stone Incan-style sauna shaped like an igloo.
In that same spirit of hospitality, Faena | Buenos Aires offers every guest the opportunity to experience spaces of overwhelming beauty. Here extravagance, creativity and informal luxury reign supreme, and enhance their positive energies and general wellbeing, before setting off on their journey again, just like those travellers from ancient times.
This exclusive hotel has a unique, individual essence. It has been hand-picked for their historical significance and their links with the original community. Faena wants its guests to discover the magic of this luxury hotel through its history, food, architecture and traditions.
Sophisticated, welcoming, and profoundly personal, this hotel is an authentic embassy of integral wellbeing, combining the most modern facilities with standout accommodation and service. Fantasies, passions and enigmatic pleasures await today’s great travellers.
Faena Group is about passion. Passion for work, passion for beauty, passion for everything we do. It has environments that expand the imagination and awaken creativity, whether they’re art spaces, stunning residences or elite accommodation in the world’s most dynamic cities.
Alan Faena has had many careers, but his life has been dedicated to the pursuit of beauty and creativity. In the mid-1980s, he established Via Vai, a fashion label and boutique in Buenos Aires. The label prospered, branching out to Brazil, Italy, France and Chile.
The success of the label allowed Alan to move to his next project, partnering with Philippe Starck to create the Faena Hotel in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, and the Faena Arts Center. These two projects combined Alan’s passion for art, creativity and design to create stunning spaces for open-minded globetrotters.
