The Moxy Chelsea Hotel will finally open its door in October and its majestic interior design are the result of an astonishing collaboration between two design powerhouses, the international design firm, Yabu Pushelberg and the renowned architecture and design studio, Rockwell Group. Located in the thrilling neighbourhood of Chelsea, New York, this hospitality design is a part of the Marriott International.
The Luxury hotel is comprised of 349 rooms and highlights a botanically inspired design as well as artful interiors. Moxy Chelsea features greenhouse-style windows which will allow guests to receive plenty of natural lighting, plus it also has a glass-enclosed rooftop lounge on its 35th floor designed by Rockwell Group which is bound to offer sweeping views of the neighbourhood, including the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Rockwell also designed the astonishing conservatory that highlights a three-story living wall or vertical garden. The exterior design of the hotel was the magnificent work of Stonehill Taylor.
In the entryway ceiling of the hotel, one can find a spectacular digital LED art installation that will display a series of flash phrases, giving a bold and playful aesthetic to Moxy Chelsea. Rockwell Group was responsible for the design of several dining and drinking options of the hotel, including the Italian Ristorante and the ground floor café.
Yabu Pushelberg were in charge of the playfully designed guestrooms. The dynamic duo made sure to incorporate plenty of whimsical details while also paying close attention to space and functionality. In order to give a sense of warmth and openness, the designers opted for a muted colour palette in things like the wood-like floors, the army-green mosaic tile or even the striped drapes. Reigned by efficiency and premium comfort, each bedroom is appointed with custom-designed and multipurpose furniture designs. One of the most request suites is bound to be the Mondo Suite which one can say it was the designed as the ultimate hotel suite.
“Moxy colours outside the lines when it comes to the traditional hospitality experience, and working hand-in-hand with Lightstone, we are set to disrupt the New York hotel scene once again with the opening of Moxy Chelsea. The combination of best-in-class in design, culture and food & beverage, as well as a killer price point, will no doubt deliver the fun and playful hotel experience guests have come to expect from Moxy Hotels, while reflecting the unique spirit of Manhattan’s Flower District.” – Vicki Poulos, Senior Global Brand Director of Moxy Hotels.
