AW Design Studio has recently unveiled a private home project located in Poland that has been submitted for the Covet International Awards, an ambiguous design contest that is still open for entries, (deadline is until the 15th of December). Over the next couple of weeks, Design Build Ideas will showcase a series of articles regarding these projects, so take a look at the interiors of the first one.

AW Design Studio is a Polish Interior Design Studio led by Anna Wiatkowska. The project is a two-story private residence, which AW Design Studio and Miss Wiaktowska designed for a young family, who love the classic elegance mixed with a modern style. The house is located in the South of Poland. The size of the designed space (first floor) is 200 sqm. The investment budget was about 200.000€. The goal of Wiaktowska’s concept for this project was to create a comfortable space that reflects a cosmopolitan view of the world, using techniques adapted from the classics.

The space includes noble brushed and glossy marble like Nero Marquina and Carrara, glossy brass with openwork metal accent combined with magnificent ash parquet in a warm shade, creating functionality in a living environment, which becomes a backdrop for furniture, lights, and accessories like the Convex Mirror by Eichholtz.

Wiatkowska included in this design space some bespoke pieces made by the designer herself, namely the console in Art Deco style with brushed marble Emperador Dark and covered by oak veneer, but also a lamp which resembles the shape of triangular icicles that shrouds warm light.

The kitchen has a huge island with long worktop which refers to the rest of the materials, namely to the large tiles by Calacatta.

The master bedroom connects with a functional wardrobe for him and her. The space has some carpets by the Belgiam-American brand Epic Carpets, and the walls have a wallpaper with a marked fabric structure. The master bathroom of the house features Emperador dark and receives lighting from an Eichholz gold lamp.
